Procore Alumni Launch Buildr to Create Innovative Solutions for the Construction Industry

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 12, 2018 — (PRNewswire) —   Buildr, based in California, announced today the formation of their company dedicated to connecting technology platforms and automating construction workflows with the goal of saving teams valuable time and advancing the industry forward. Created by Procore alumni Michael Stock and Edward Gonzalez, along with Caleb Taylor, Buildr is currently focusing on helping project teams complete jobs faster with their BuildrCloseout product and automating construction workflows through their BuildrSync tool.

The Beginnings of Buildr

The idea for Buildr grew from years of experience working on the Procore platform and from working closely with numerous construction companies across the country. The Buildr founders saw the industry evolving at a rapid pace and believed that the Procore platform would play an important role in the growth of the industry. Procore CEO Tooey Courtemanche encouraged these early Procore employees to launch their own company and to build on the Procore platform in order to help further serve and advance the industry. The team began to focus on their stronghold of providing customized solutions for the job site that save time and allow construction companies to focus on what they do best: build.

"The team at Buildr is taking years of construction technology experience and applying that knowledge to developing products that drive value and solve problems for the construction industry," said Tooey Courtemanche, founder and CEO, Procore. "The Procore platform was built to help empower others to tackle complex issues in construction and do so by creating a more connected ecosystem that removes unnecessary friction. It's an honor to see the work that's been accomplished thus far by these Procore alumni and we're excited to see how they continue to push the industry forward."

Connecting Construction with BuildrSync

They started by creating the BuildrSync product which connects disjointed technology platforms used in the industry and automates construction workflows. The BuildrSync platform links Procore with leading collaboration platforms in the construction industry -  Dropbox, Box and Egnyte - and automates the task of saving Procore documents to correct folders in these systems. BuildrSync also provides a real-time sync between Procore and Bluebeam and allows users to streamline tasks between e-Builder and Procore. The tool as a whole minimizes duplicate entry and saves field teams valuable time. All three integrations are available on the Procore App Marketplace.

Close out and move on

During the development of BuildrSync and the focus on document management and markup systems, a common theme was vocalized by Buildr's users. The ability to close out projects historically has been a painful and manual process with documents living in multiple places throughout the project. With the development of BuildrCloseout, companies can now manage the document retrieval process by using the Procore Submittal engine, sync files automatically from Procore and hyperlink all the documents together in preparation for the turn-over package. This allows companies to promptly automate tasks and get to project completion faster.

As Buildr continues to work with various companies to automate manual processes, the goal will always be to create the tools that allow teams to complete work faster and smarter through technology.
