USGIF Appoints New Vice President of Programs

Career GEOINT professional Ronda Schrenk to lead the Foundation’s event programming, working groups, and more

Herndon, Virginia (December 6, 2018)— The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) is pleased to announce it has hired Ronda Schrenk, a 25-year geospatial intelligence professional, as its new Vice President of Programs. Schrenk has held various positions at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) since 1997, most recently on assignment to the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) as the Senior Fellow for Public-Private Partnerships.

At INSA, Schrenk was a member of the senior leadership team, managing member volunteer working group efforts and leading content development for a variety of forums bringing together experts from both in and outside of government to discuss pressing national security issues.

“Ronda’s diverse background in industry and her 20+ years at NGA make her the perfect choice for USGIF’s new VP of Programs,” said USGIF Interim CEO Steve Oswald. “Equally valuable is the experience she gained as NGA’s representative at INSA. Her personal enthusiasm for USGIF’s mission, coupled with her in-depth knowledge of the GEOINT Community, will be a huge factor in helping USGIF meet its mission going forward.”

Before her INSA assignment, Schrenk served as the Mission Requirements Program Manager for NGA’s Mission Talent Alignment office, which created and implemented a framework that revolutionized how NGA manages its human resources and prepares the workforce for current and future missions. She served in a variety of analytic leadership positions at NGA, including Chief of the Counterterrorism Airborne Analysis Center, Chief of the Time Dominant Operations Center, and Deputy Chief of the International Affairs and Policy Office while on a joint duty assignment to the National Security Agency.

In her new role at USGIF beginning Dec. 17, Schrenk will lead content development for all Foundation events and programs, including the annual GEOINT Symposium and a variety of workshops tackling enduring and emergent topics of interest to the intelligence, defense, and homeland security communities. Schrenk will also be responsible for liaising with and supporting USGIF member volunteers as they lead important working group efforts.

“As a lifelong ‘GEOINTer,’ I am thrilled to join an organization that is dedicated to advancing the geospatial intelligence tradecraft and ushering in the next generation of GEOINT leaders,” Schrenk said. “I look forward to leading the planning and execution of the dynamic, high-quality events and initiatives the USGIF community has come to expect.”
