PCI Geomatics Releases Geomatica and GXL 2018, SP1

MARKHAM, Ontario, Canada, February 11, 2019 - PCI Geomatics, a world leading developer of remote sensing and photogrammetric software and systems, announced today the release of Service Pack 1 for Geomatica and GXL 2018, the company’s flagship software for complete and integrated desktop and enterprise geoimage processing. Geomatica features tools for remote sensing, digital photogrammetry, geospatial analysis, mosaicking, and more that can be deployed through the Geomatica desktop, Python workflows, or through large-volume-production GXL systems.

The service pack provides new capabilities and enhancements that further strengthen the key development areas for the Geomatica 2018 software release:

  • Analysis Ready Data Tools (ARD) which addresses critical requirements for performing authoritative and scientifically accurate single-image analysis and multitemporal analytics. ARD Tools enable customers to perform radiometric normalization and geometric alignment of large stacks of images through scalable and automated workflows.
  • Advanced photogrammetric capabilities which streamline and speed up aerial production projects with digital-frame and push broom cameras. Techniques for extracting digital surface models (DSM), based on semiglobal matching (SGM) and multiview stereo extraction provide high-quality capabilities to extract digital elevation models (DEM). Projects with collections of highly-overlapping data can benefit from DSM merging to produce DSM true ortho images.
  • We continue to add improved and rigorous sensor support with every release. In this service pack improved support has been added for Superview-1, Sentinel-1 and Gokturk-1.

Detailed information on the contents of the service pack can be found in the release notes ( access release notes here). Customers who have an active support and update contract should contact Email Contact to obtain a link to download the service pack.
