Harada Vehicle Design awarded first Additive Manufacturing Quality Certification (AMQ) from EOS in Japan

A recognition to Harada Vehicle Design's commitment to quality production in additive manufacturing (AM)

TOKYO, March 26, 2019 — (PRNewswire) —  EOS, the world's leading technology supplier in the field of industrial 3D printing of metals and polymers, awarded the first Additive Manufacturing Quality (AMQ) certification in Japan to Harada Vehicle Design (HVD), a testament to HVD's position in the part manufacturing industry.

"We are excited to be the first manufacturer in Japan to receive the AMQ certification, which is an acknowledgement of our quality management standards in AM metal and polymer part production," said Hisamitsu Harada, Chief Executive Officer, HVD. "Working with EOS enables us to establish a robust manufacturing flow management process and expand our global supply chain to bring Japan's AM expertise worldwide. We look forward to furthering our partnership with EOS and NTT Data Engineering Systems Corporation to be at the forefront of the AM part production industry and Japan's manufacturing sector."

HVD officially received the AMQ certification in May 2019 and was JIS Q9100 certified in July 2015. HVD has been working with NTT Data Engineering Systems Corporation (NDES) since 2015, and eventually with EOS and through EOS' joint partnership with NDES. Since then, HVD successfully expanded their footprint in using 3D CAD for part production in a wider range of manufacturing sectors. As the first AMQ recipient in Japan, HVD will continue to work closely with EOS to provide its customers with the highest quality in areas such as wire harness design and mass production manufacturing.

"The EOS AMQ certification demonstrates our dedication to help our customers pursuit the highest levels of quality and success in their AM journey. The AM market in Japan has shown significant growth and adoption, especially in the domestic manufacturing sector[1], and having the EOS' AMQ certification is vital in ensuring that quality excellence will be met in all aspects of AM production," said Terrence Oh, Senior VP, (EOS Asia-Pacific). "In addition, our in-house consulting unit, Additive Minds, partners with our customers like HVD, to strengthen their AM value proposition by enhancing the level of quality assurance within their organization."
