Industry Insiders, Content Creators, Thought Leaders, Inventors, and Subject Matter Experts, comprise the Panel.

This year's theme for Siggraph, the 46 year old Mega-Conference and Expo that is all things: computer, graphic and interactive is, "Thrive".

Entertainment, Marketing, Training, and Education are just some of the sectors that Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Volumetric Video, Mixed Reality and Spatial Computing are transforming at a rapid pace of adoption.

XR Technologies that approach diversity in ways that seem obvious at first-glance, are actually offering powerful solutions that Industries will need to scale along with this transformative tech.

"Diversity and Inclusion can and should be "baked into" XR technologies as they continue toward widespread commercialization. Why? Simply because this is a true reflection of the World, today," says David Rixter, a workforce development expert and AR VR Consultant on the Panel.

"How do we capture every skin tone in Volumetric Video -Important -wouldn't you agree? We have those proprietary solutions, now," adds Alex Porter of Underminer Studios in Austin, Texas -an Organizer of the Siggraph 2019 Panel.

"Technology can be cold and unyielding if we let it. It can either do good or bad depending on the hands, but if we work together that same indifference can lead to freedom from bias, freedom from injustice, and a path toward empathy." points out Tim Porter, of Underminer Studios.

Join the discussion, break through barriers of race, gender, age or ability through emerging tech that is scaling at an unprecedented level.

Sara Fenton, LA-based Cinematic VR Producer, Director and AR VR Consultant makes this point: "With this new medium, we have the potential to re-democratize who is making and who is consuming. But given the world that we live in and the systems we are a part of, diversity and inclusion don't happen organically. It's something you need to deliberately practice and strive for and this benefits us all."
