Cogswell College Faculty member works on the new PlayStation 4 release Concrete Genie

Cogswell Polytechnical College faculty member Evan Skolnick writes and contributes narrative design for PS4 release Concrete Genie.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cogswell Polytechnical College announced today that one of its full-time faculty members, Professor of Practice Evan Skolnick, served as the writer and a narrative designer for the recently released, award-winning PlayStation 4 title Concrete Genie.

In addition to spearheading Cogswell's innovative Game Writing concentration — the only program of its kind on the West Coast — Skolnick is also an active game writer and international speaker. His continued work on prominent titles such as Concrete Genie allows him to impart on Cogswell students invaluable insight and knowledge of current game industry processes and challenges.

An action-adventure game developed by PixelOpus, Concrete Genie was first announced at Paris Games Week in 2017, and released exclusively on the PS4 on October 8, 2019. Skolnick worked closely with the San Mateo, California-based team on a part-time basis for two years, helping them bring their story concept to fruition.

Skolnick is a writer, editor, and producer who has created content in a wide variety of media including comic books, books, websites, computer games and video games. He has over 25 years of combined story and game development experience at world-class entertainment companies such as Marvel, Activision, and Lucasfilm, and has worked on game titles such as Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, Mafia III, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, Star Wars: Battlefront, Cuphead, and many others, including his most recent project, Concrete Genie.
