SEMI Postpones SEMICON China, Suspends SEMICON Korea in Response to Coronavirus Outbreak

SEMI Notification to SEMICON China Exhibitors and Registered Attendees - Feb. 3, 2020

As you are aware, the Chinese government has implemented strict measures in the prevention and control of the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), escalating it to the highest priority with an intent to protect public health and minimize further spreading of the virus.

In accordance with government guidelines and to protect the health and safety of exhibitors and guests, we regret to inform you of the postponement of SEMICON/FPD China 2020 and related events originally scheduled for March 18-20, 2020. SEMI China is actively working on a contingency plan for rescheduling of the event and will keep you informed as soon as a confirmed plan is in place. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change, but your safety is our top concern.

SEMICON/FPD China has become the leading semiconductor and display industry event in China and globally because of your continuous participation and contribution. Your understanding and support are particularly appreciated at this critical moment.

SEMI is evaluating the health risks the Novel Coronavirus poses at other upcoming exhibitions and conferences and will make decisions whether to hold them as planned on a case-by-case basis.

We encourage everyone to remain abreast of developments on the Novel Coronavirus by visiting the World Health Organization website for updates.

We wish you all the best and good health!

SEMI Notification to SEMICON Korea Exhibitors and Registered Attendees - Jan. 31, 2020

Dear exhibitors and visitors,

With the World Health Organization’s (WHO) declaration of the  Novel Coronavirus (2019 nCoV) as a global health emergency, SEMI will no longer host SEMICON Korea 2020 at COEX in Seoul, South Korea, February 5-7 as originally scheduled.

SEMI regrets any inconvenience to SEMICON Korea 2020 exhibitors and visitors, but your safety is SEMI’s top priority. SEMI made the decision out of an abundance of caution as the Novel Coronavirus continues to spread. The decision is consistent with that of a number of exhibitors and other organizations scheduled to attend the event not to send key representatives.

SEMI is currently exploring contingency plans for SEMICON Korea 2020 and will notify all SEMICON Korea 2020 participants once a decision has been made.

SEMI is evaluating the health risks the Novel Coronavirus poses at other upcoming exhibitions and conferences and will make decisions whether to hold them as planned on a case-by-case basis.
