GfK's Map of the Month for March shows the regional distribution of multiple-person households with children in Germany in 2019.

Most German schools and kindergartens are currently closed in order to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving millions of children at home. Which regions have the most households with children? According to GfK's recent study, the rural district Eichstätt has the highest share of this demographic at 42 percent. Last place in the district rankings goes to the urban district of Würzbug, where households with children comprise only 16 percent of all households.
