Influence Tomorrow's Innovations Today: Contribute to the 58th Design Automation Conference

Topic areas including Design, EDA, Embedded Systems, Autonomous Systems, Machine Learning, Intellectual Property, Security and Design on Cloud

SAN FRANCISCO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 1, 2020 — The electronics industry is entering a new phase, as increasingly powerful and efficient compute drives AI and other new workloads and design teams stretch the limits of Moore’s Law. For 58 years, the Design Automation Conference (DAC) has served as the only event that brings together industry, academia and government to chart the changing nature of system and silicon design, and 2021 will be no different.

DAC, the premier event devoted to the design and design automation of electronic chips to systems, has opened the call for contributions for the 58th DAC. The 58th DAC will be held at Moscone West Center in San Francisco, CA, from July 11–15, 2021. DAC will co-locate with SEMICON West 2021, which is being held July 12–15 at Moscone North and South halls.

The DAC 2021 Technical Program Committee, led by the 58th General Chair, Harry Foster of Mentor, a Siemens Business, and Conference Program Chair Jörg Henkel of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, is soliciting high-quality submissions on design research, design practices and design automation for the Research Track, Designer Track, IP Track, Embedded Track on the following topics:

“DAC has always been on the forefront of innovation for the electronics industry. The event is highly regarded for its technical research content along with bringing together – for one week, in one location, the worldwide community of designers, researchers, tool developers and vendors in the electronics industry. There is no other event devoted to electronic design and design automation of electronic circuits and systems,” Foster said. “I encourage everyone in the global electronic ecosystem to submit and participate at the 58th DAC.”

Submissions are also being sought for special sessions, poster sessions, panels, workshops, works-in-progress, tutorials and DAC Pavilion panels under the same topics highlighted above. All submission information details can be found at https://dac.com/call-for-contributions

Over the decades, papers accepted to DAC have detailed advances in everything from verification and synthesis, to memory innovations, the rise of the system-on-chip (SoC) methodology and open-source hardware to autonomous workloads and cellular communications, he said.

“The technical program committee has exceedingly high standards for papers, and acceptance carries with it a certain level of prestige among the industry,” Foster added.

About DAC

The Design Automation Conference (DAC) is recognized as the premier event for the design of electronic circuits and systems, and for electronic design automation (EDA) and silicon solutions. A diverse worldwide community representing more than 1,000 organizations attends each year, represented by system designers and architects, logic and circuit designers, validation engineers, CAD managers, senior managers and executives to researchers and academicians from leading universities. Close to 60 technical sessions selected by a committee of electronic design experts offer information on recent developments and trends, management practices and new products, methodologies and technologies. A highlight of DAC is its exhibition and suite area with approximately 150 of the leading and emerging EDA, silicon, intellectual property (IP), embedded systems and design services providers. The conference is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and is supported by ACM's Special Interest Group on Design Automation (ACM SIGDA).

Design Automation Conference acknowledges trademarks or registered trademarks of other organizations for their respective products and services.
