Workshop and Presentation Proposals Invited for GIS/ValTech 2022


Des Plaines, IL (August 16, 2021) URISA and the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) are pleased to invite workshop and presentation proposals for  the milestone 25th Annual GIS/Valuation Technologies Conference taking place next March in New Orleans. This conference has been the favorite annual event for Assessors and the GIS professionals who apply technology to make property assessment and tax administration more accurate and efficient for a quarter of a century. The conference will feature an abundance of workshops, educational sessions, panel discussions, and opportunities to connect with solutions providers and fellow attendees. 

Full and half-day workshop proposals are encouraged.

Presentation proposals are encouraged in several formats, from lightning talks to complete sessions. The conference planning committee will organize content into the following tracks: 

GIS Technologies: GIS technologies have become essential to the field of property assessment, and this track examines the latest innovations in the geospatial industry supporting the work of assessors.

Modeling & Valuation: This track covers valuation topics including modeling, valuation methodologies, machine learning, data visualization, and manipulation, as well as ratio studies. The track will also feature sessions on reappraisal as well as best practice case studies on the application of methodologies.

Leadership Development & Policy: Managing a GIS, assessment system, or a team of appraisers, cadastral mappers or GIS technicians requires more than just technical capabilities. This track contains essential presentations to help guide you through GIS planning, understanding changing policy, emerging technology, and developing soft skills to enhance your leadership abilities.
