Evolve Additive Solutions Appoints Hugh Evans & Joe Allison of 3D Ventures Group to Its Board of Directors

New board members bring a wealth of experience in finance to Evolve’s BOD

MINNEAPOLIS — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 14, 2021Evolve Additive Solutions Inc., whose proprietary STEP™ (Selective Thermoplastic Electrophotographic Process) technology is the first scaled volume production-ready manufacturing platform in the world, today announced the appointment of Hugh Evans, and Joe Allison of 3D Ventures Group ( www.3dventures.com) to its Board of Directors.

“We are excited to welcome Hugh and Joe to our Board and look forward to their leadership, insights and contributions,“ stated Steve Chillscyzn, CEO and Founder of Evolve. “We are at a turning point in our company’s evolution and commercial product globalization. With Hugh and Joe’s support, and history of demanding excellence, we are confident that our impetus to constantly push and challenge the barriers of digital manufacturing will remain a strong driving force at Evolve.”

Mr. Evans brings significant industry specific and financial experience to Evolve. He is an active investor and entrepreneur in the Additive Manufacturing sector. He has invested in numerous 3D startups and serves on the Board of Directors as an advisor to many projects. From 2013 to 2019, he served as SVP Corporate Development and Digitization at 3D Systems. He received his BA from the University of Virginia and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

“I am excited to join Evolve at this important moment as the company commercializes its SVP™ system,” stated Hugh Evans, “In my opinion, Evolve is the first print engine that has the ability to compete directly with injection molding on part quality, part cost and throughput. In addition, the SVP system offers unparallel design, and material flexibility. Evolve has a chance to make a dent in manufacturing.”

Mr. Allison brings extensive 3D printing industry experience to Evolve. He has dedicated over 30 years to developing the 3D printing industry by driving new technologies and new materials to meet the requirements of new applications. He entered the industry, working as an R&D engineer for 3D Systems from 1987-1991. He then worked for 23 years as founder and CEO of Solid Concepts, the largest service provider in the 3D printing sector. After selling Solid Concepts to Stratasys, he served 3 years as CEO of Stratasys Direct Manufacturing. He is now an active investor and advisor to many companies in the Additive Manufacturing space. Mr. Allison received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and his 26 years of experience operating a service business brings an intimate knowledge of customer requirements to the board.

“It is important to constantly challenge the limits of technology. The work that is being done at Evolve is well timed for the necessary evolution of 3D printing.” stated Joe Allison, “At this moment, Evolve is on the cusp of revolutionizing the custom manufacturing process. Evolve has found a way to address all the manufacturing demands that were previously difficult to meet in one solution. The ability for this system to address manufacturing concerns of part quality, part cost and throughput are thoughtfully eliminated with this SVP system. As process adoption takes place by demanding clients, we will see great strides in usage and further push the abilities of this exciting technology

These appointments expand Evolve’s board to eight members all that hold deep knowledge in manufacturing, technology, finance and innovation.
