SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC ANNOUNCES LATEST RELEASE OF ARCFM DESIGNER XI

One of the most significant releases to date, ArcFM Designer 11.3.3 delivers valuable new capabilities for designers and engineers

Fort Collins, Colo., December 15, 2021 – Schneider Electric, the leader in powering digital transformation and grid modernization for utilities and communication providers, announces the ArcFM Designer 11.3.3 release, delivering significant new enhancements and functionality that take productivity to an entirely new level for designers and engineers.

Purpose-built for designers and engineers, the new features of ArcFM Designer XI include the ability to leverage CAD files during the design process. Now, designers and engineers no longer have to rely on extended processes to access the CAD data in their design environment, greatly enhancing efficiency and productivity.

ArcFM Designer XI now includes functionality for comparing design options; a reimagined and faster-loading My Work page; and the ability to support design creation from scratch, as well as copying, renaming, deleting, and moving a design to a different work request for more flexibility.

Enabled by the new ArcFM Designer 11.3.3 release, these offerings strengthen ArcFM Designer’s unmatched ability to deliver support for the complete utility design and construction workflow with simplicity, efficiency and ease.

Additional new functionality and developments include:

  • Custom Work Functions so admins can create and assign custom actions, allowing designers to enhance cost estimates and GIS data accuracy.
  • Ability to automatically place labels to prevent them from overlapping and to ensure proper alignment, so the construction print is always clear and readable.
  • CU Tag enhancements that make it easier to add labor adders, specify labor-only or material-only CUs, and to bulk load a large list.
  • The Designer XI Edge Service can now be optionally hosted in Microsoft Azure to enable easier deployment and maintenance.
  • Reference Views now support annotation for more robust support for various GIS data types.
  • A number of administrative improvements for easier creation and management of Geospatial Region Resources (.GRR) files.

“Designer 11.3.3 is one of our biggest releases ever, equipping designers and engineers with significantly more functionality for more productive work,” said Jay Stinson, general manager at Schneider Electric. “As utilities continue their digital journey, this new release gives them a leap forward in terms of performing work more quickly and greater flexibility, reducing duplicative and manual tasks, and increased application performance.”

ArcFM Designer XI is part of the ArcFM Solution XI Series, an ecosystem of applications focused on streamlining the design and construction workflow, enabling utilities to get work done more efficiently. ArcFM Editor XI, ArcFM Web XI and ArcFM Mobile XI fill out the rest of the ecosystem and offer the most comprehensive utility GIS solution available today. The result - streamlined workflows, minimized use of paper and a reduced work backlog, equipping utilities with the ability to address challenges facing today’s digital utility.
