Agreement Enables Expansion of Metal Materials & Customer Portfolio

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 16, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In a move to strategically diversify and enhance existing customer verticals, Cumberland Additive, Inc. has reached an agreement with Stratasys Direct Manufacturing to assume operations of its metal additive manufacturing operations in Austin, Texas. This agreement will double Cumberland's metal AM capacity using Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) laser technology while maintaining ITAR and AS9100D certifications across both operations, essential to Cumberland's quality standards.

This strategic acquisition supports Cumberland's future growth strategy:

1. Providing material expansion and diversification in Aluminum, Copper, and other metal materials
2. Adding metal printers and a heat treat furnace to expand capacity
3. Additional machines will complement current CNC machining capabilities
4. Providing diversification into synergistic markets, broadening customer reach

 Under the Cumberland banner, the existing Stratasys metals team will remain in place and continue operations at the same location. All current equipment and IP will remain in place.
