KISTERS 3DViewStation: New Structure Compare Now Available

Tabular overview with flexible filtering options for absolute precision in design change analysis

Sacramento, CA - November 05, 2024 – With 3DViewStation, KISTERS takes CAD data visualization and analysis to a new level. The newly developed structure compare feature goes beyond visually displaying changes in the 3D model by offering a detailed tabular list that is tailored to the specific criteria of the user. This solution significantly enhances multiple processes such as quoting new business and product engineering analysis within the entire production chain. Whether for frequent changes to assemblies or minor components, precise analysis is crucial to ensure exact production—and this is where the new feature comes into play.

Previously, CAD model comparisons in 3DViewStation relied primarily on visual geometry highlighting. While this method, using color markers to indicate model changes provided valuable insights, the new structure compare takes it a step further. "Now users can additionally access a tabular overview that lists in detail where parts were added or removed as well as changes in volume, surface area, or color. This structured approach offers a clearer and more tangible representation of all relevant changes. You can also include quantification, allowing for even more efficient review," says Craig Impastato, U.S. Sales Director.

Another key feature is the comprehensive filtering option. Users can now select specific criteria to customize the results list according to their needs focusing only on the changes that are relevant to them. This makes the change analysis process not only more precise but also significantly faster and more organized. Available filters include: structure, geometry, physical properties, attributes, transformation, appearance, visibility, text, and file path, including subcategories for further customization.

With the introduction of the structure compare functionality, 3DViewStation further solidifies its role as an indispensable tool for companies seeking efficiency and precision in their processes. The combination of clarity, flexibility, and the potential for future enhancements makes this new feature a critical component of modern change management.

Looking ahead, KISTERS plans to continue expanding 3DViewStation's capabilities. One of the future developments is the implementation of a "heatmap compare" feature. This will make it even easier to detect the smallest geometric changes through intelligent visualization. This is especially crucial for manufacturing companies, where different departments are involved throughout the workflow to ensure the final product is produced flawlessly and profitably.

KISTERS 3DViewStation is continuously enhanced in response to customer needs and requirements. It is available as a Desktop, HTML5 WebViewer and VR Edition product versions plus the online collaboration tool VisShare. All product offerings can be integrated into PLM, ERP or other leading management systems as well as service and spare part applications. KISTERS 3DViewStation provides all necessary APIs for your development team. For cloud, portal and web solutions, there is a HTML5-based WebViewer solution available, which does not require client installation. All file formats can be used in combination with the intelligent navigation and hyperlinking features to address the needs of complex integration scenarios.
