Acquis and Farallon Geographics Partner to Provide Real-time Enterprise GIS Systems

Industry Leaders Join Forces to Offer Interactive Visualization and Editing of Enterprise and Spatial Data

Palo Alto Calif., - October 24, 2005 - Acquis Inc, a world leader in Enterprise Location software, and Farallon Geographics, a leader in the planning, implementation, and integration of GIS systems and software, today announced a partnership which will result in the integration of Acquis’ interactive location software with Farallon Geographic’s Enterprise GIS systems integration expertise. The partnership will give state and local governments, insurance and risk management companies, transportation agencies, and utility providers the ability to allow users across the organization to immediately update spatial information and collaborate between departments more effectively.

Corporations and government agencies want to leverage existing investments in GIS and enterprise systems as well as take advantage of the latest technology advancements. The challenge is that these disparate systems are incompatible, making it nearly impossible to share information across the enterprise. The resulting mix of diverse software and information systems creates redundancy and introduces the potential for errors that prevent organizations from realizing business goals, leveraging investments in data and technology and controlling costs.

“Acquis ADE’s ability to provide real-time interactive updates to Oracle 10g spatial data is an important element in our goal of allowing our clients who use spatial data to spend more time on the analytical capabilities and business functions of a GIS and less time searching for and integrating data,” said Dennis Wuthrich, CEO of Farallon Geographics. “Adding Acquis to our Enterprise GIS integrations will allow our clients to more easily and cost-effectively perform real-time interactive updates, analysis, and reporting of location information combined with other data from existing GIS systems.”

“The integration of existing systems with new technology is essential in order for corporations and government organizations to automate business processes, improve enterprise collaboration and increase productivity,” said Liam Mc Geown, CEO of Acquis. “Farallon Geographics’ extensive experience integrating legacy data and spatial processes through a web portal, as well as the company’s understanding of how to apply this data to solve business problems, will be very beneficial to organizations seeking to leverage a new class of enterprise spatial solutions.”
