Rand Worldwide® Launches Rapid Deployment PLM Program

New cost effective PLM deployment options offer organizations a competitive edge at less cost

Mississauga, ON, April 20, 2006 – RAND A Technology Corporation [TSX: RND], operating as RAND Worldwide, announces that it has released QuickStart, a program designed to help organizations deploy a fully functioning Product Lifecycle Management (“PLM”) environment with minimal upfront investment. QuickStart offers a selection of deployment solutions for CATIA V5 and SMARTEAM that are faster and more cost effective to implement than a standard PLM deployment. The program leverages RAND’s TAKE AIM (Assured Implementation Methodology) program, a proven four-phase project implementation approach, derived from RAND’s extensive experience with PLM deployments across a variety of industries.

“With the goal of enhancing a client’s competitive edge, we are constantly seeking new and innovative ways to introduce valuable PLM solutions to organizations of all sizes, regardless of their available budget,” said Joe Oswald, Executive Vice President, RAND Worldwide. “Our 20 years of experience has enabled us to develop assured implementation methodologies and apply them to the QuickStart program.”

The CATIA V5 QuickStart package assists in building a proper PLM foundation and includes process standardization and quality assurance measures. The program assists organizations that have limited internal knowledge of CATIA V5 set-up and administration, or need to improve the progress of an existing implementation.

The SMARTEAM QuickStart program offers four implementation packages designed to introduce companies to SMARTEAM’s vaulting, Web and Workflow capabilities. These packages are an ideal solution for companies with basic CAD data management, workflow and viewing requirements. The SMARTEAM options also allow for implementation at an engineering work group level, before introducing it across the entire organization. Launch timeframes for the program are as little as five days for CATIA V5 and 10 days for SMARTEAM, by RAND’s dedicated and experienced consulting team. All implementations provide the foundation for a fully functioning PLM system, without any limitation for expansion to the full capabilities of CATIA V5 or SMARTEAM.
