Ponte Solutions Adds Jim Hogan as Chairman of the Board

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Sept. 13, 2006— Ponte Solutions, Inc., the design-for-yield company, today announced that James Hogan has joined its board of directors as chairman, bringing his visionary approach to EDA technology and business models.

Hogan has spent three decades in the semiconductor, EDA and venture capitalist industries. He also sits on multiple boards in the semiconductor design and manufacturing industries.

"Jim is the quintessential activist board member providing strategic advice in strategy, fundraising, personnel and other issues that are of vast importance to Ponte Solutions at this stage of our development," said Alex Alexanian, Ponte Solutions CEO.

Hogan was general partner at Telos Venture Partners and senior vice president of business development of Artisan Components. He also served senior vice president of business development and the senior member of the Office of Chief Technologist at Cadence Design Systems. Hogan was also a Cadence Executive Fellow and held several executive positions during his tenure at Cadence.

In the semiconductor industry he was chief operating officer of Smart Machines, Inc., a semiconductor equipment automation company, and held management positions at National Semiconductor and Philips Semiconductor. Hogan holds a B.A. degree in mathematics, a B.S. degree in computer science and an M.B.A. all from San Jose State University. He serves on the Board of Advisors for the School of Engineering at San Jose State University.
