Chartered Reiterates Guidance for First Quarter

MILPITAS, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 5, 2007— Today, in its scheduled mid-quarter update, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing (Nasdaq: CHRT) (SGX-ST: CHARTERED) reaffirmed its first quarter 2007 guidance, which was originally provided on January 26, 2007.

"The quarter is essentially progressing in line with what we had anticipated earlier, and therefore we are reiterating the guidance we originally provided in January," said George Thomas, senior vice president & CFO of Chartered.

Chartered plans to release first quarter 2007 results on Friday, April 27, 2007, Singapore time, before the Singapore market opens.
