45th DAC a Success with Attendees and Exhibitors

ANAHEIM, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 11, 2008— The 45th Design Automation Conference (DAC), the electronic design automation (EDA) industrys premier event, has attracted thousands to the Anaheim Convention Center this week. Preliminary numbers indicate total attendance has surpassed 8,000 so far this week, with attendees visiting the 215 exhibitors represented. The 45th DAC exhibits will be open through Thursday, June 12 from 9am to 1pm.

This years preliminary attendance figures break down into the following categories:

DAC Exhibit-only attendees: 2,405
DAC Technical conference (workshops, tutorials, etc.) attendees: 2,423
DAC Exhibitor personnel: 3,550
Preliminary total 45th DAC attendance: 8,468

These numbers are very similar to last year. Final attendance numbers will be announced later this month and are expected to be slightly adjusted.

The ballroom was packed, with people filling the aisles during the opening session and the keynote presentation by Justin Rattner, Intel, CTO, said Limor Fix, general chair, 45th DAC Executive Committee. The biggest challenges and opportunities of our industry in the wireless market, analog design, sw/hw co-design, verification and manufacturing are the topics of many of DACs well-attended sessions and events this year. Once again, DAC is the place where electronic design meets.

The 46th DAC will be held July 2631, 2009 in San Francisco.

About DAC

The Design Automation Conference (DAC) is recognized as the premier event for the design of electronic circuits and systems, and for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and silicon solutions. A diverse worldwide community representing more than 1,500 organizations attends each year, from system designers and architects, logic and circuit designers, validation engineers, CAD managers, senior managers and executives to researchers and academicians from leading universities. Close to 60 technical sessions selected by a committee of electronic design experts offer information on recent developments and trends, management practices and new products, methodologies and technologies. A highlight is its Exhibition and Suite area with approximately 250 of the leading and emerging EDA, silicon and IP providers. The conference is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinerys Special Interest Group on Design Automation (ACM/SIGDA), the Circuits and Systems Society and Council on Electronic Design Automation of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE/CASS/CEDA) and the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDA Consortium).
