HP Announces Expiration of Waiting Period Under HSR Act

PALO ALTO, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 30, 2008— HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced that the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 relating to HPs proposed acquisition of Electronic Data Systems Corporation has expired without a request for additional information by the U.S. Department of Justice or the Federal Trade Commission.

The transaction still requires EDS stockholder approval and regulatory clearance from the European Commission and other non-U.S. jurisdictions and is subject to the satisfaction or waiver of the other closing conditions specified in the merger agreement.
