Submissions for original 3D creations were accepted from July 29 through August 7, 2008. The finalists' creations will be on display throughout the week at Shapeways booth number 138. Users were asked to create their own unique models using their own 3D modeling software and uploading their designs to Shapeways.com.
The top ten finalists were decided by industry professionals with expertise in 3D modeling in conjunction with Shapeways. Below are the ten competing for the Grand Prize (in alphabetical order):

All finalists' models can be seen online at http://www.shapeways.com/contestgallery. The winner will be selected by the Shapeways community online. After the voting has concluded, the Grand Prize Winner will be announced at SIGGRAPH on August 14 and will win a $500 Shapeways product certificate.
