Meridian Systems Announces Proliance Navigator for Microsoft Outlook

Proliance users can easily capture and manage critical project data directly within Microsoft Outlook

FOLSOM, Calif. (September 10, 2008) - Meridian Systems, a software solutions leader for improving capital program and construction project performance, announced today the availability of Proliance® Navigator for Microsoft Outlook, an optional add-on product for both existing and new Proliance customers. Proliance Navigator enables Proliance users to seamlessly navigate through data stored in their project management system using the familiar Microsoft Outlook user interface.

"Converging enterprise applications and desktop tools such as those found in Microsoft's Office Suite make data needed for decision-making more easily accessible," said Cindy Jutras, vice president and group director, Aberdeen Group, a leading provider of fact-based research focused on the global technology-driven value chain. "Meridian Systems is among the first enterprise application vendors to deliver on this new technology wave sweeping towards convergence."

Proliance Navigator was developed as an Office Business Application (OBA), a technology that helps bridge the gap between users who want to leverage their existing desktop productivity tools, while allowing organizations to keep all project data visible and secure in one centralized project database. This combination can enable users to work more efficiently, reduce risk and work in a familiar environment.

"CIO's want enterprise systems that are easy to adopt by their user community to ensure their technology investments are fully utilized," said Bruno Berti, senior director of product management at Meridian.

Email Import
Proliance Navigator allows users to save Outlook emails and attachments directly to Proliance, where they can be simultaneously linked to other critical project data, such as Invoices, Contracts, and Change Orders, creating an easy-to-follow trail of information.

Data Management and Synchronization
Proliance Navigator allows users to leverage Outlook folder structure capabilities to organize Proliance documents in any way that is meaningful to them. Proliance users can access Outlook's capabilities to search, filter, group, and sort across multiple Proliance projects. They can also view, edit and synchronize Proliance documents directly from an Outlook email. Proliance Navigator automatically references and updates the Proliance document - without ever leaving Outlook.

"Proliance Navigator is an example of a role-based user interface tailored to specific work tasks, so that project team members can work the way they want to," said John Bodrozic, Meridian president and cofounder. "Because Proliance Navigator utilizes the Proliance Platform, it adheres to the same security, business logic, and workflow rules configured in your Proliance system."

Work seamlessly between applications by saving Outlooks emails and attachments directly to Proliance.
