WALTHAM, Mass.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—December 4, 2008— V.i. Laboratories, Inc. (“V.i. Labs”), a provider of software protection solutions for securing high-value and mission-critical applications, is now offering a free assessment for software vendors that want to gain insight into how their products are being are targeted for piracy.

For a limited time, vendors can submit their requests at www.vilabs.com/freeanalysis and receive free access to the data for their organization through V.i. Labs’ private Piracy Portal™. Vendors will receive customized research findings on piracy activity specific to their software products within a few days. These findings will include:

  • Recent crack release activity for software
  • Which software applications have been cracked and released
  • The number of piracy groups focused on their company's software
  • Past and present activity to understand piracy trends with their software

“Software vendors are aware that they are a target of piracy, however most are often unable to pinpoint the specifics behind the problem,” said Victor DeMarines, VP of Products, V.i. Labs. “Our analysis offers a deeper look at the inner-workings of pirates and crackers to help arm ISVs with the knowledge they need to combat these problems.”

Within this assessment, software vendors will receive insight into the piracy groups targeting their software and gain a deeper understanding of the activities and trends associated with their products.
