Intermap Technologies Expands AccuTerra GPS Map Product Line Into Western Europe

DENVER—(BUSINESS WIRE)—December 10, 2008— Intermap Technologies today announced the expansion of their AccuTerra GPS maps product line into Western Europe. The launch of AccuTerra Europe ushers in a new breed of GPS maps, with unprecedented detail, accuracy, and uniformity—unavailable in Europe until now.

Targeted to meet the needs of millions of outdoor enthusiasts across Western Europe and the rapidly growing handheld GPS market, AccuTerra Europe provides users with greater access to high-tech GPS maps to enrich their outdoor experiences. Derived from elevation data collected as part of the Company’s NEXTMap® Europe digital mapping program, AccuTerra Europe provides high accuracy shaded relief imagery, topographic contour lines, hydrology detail, and land cover classifications. NEXTMap Europe delivers a uniform 3D digital elevation model with a 1-meter vertical accuracy for 2.4 million km2 of terrain across Western Europe.

“The experience for outdoor enthusiasts across Europe has just taken a major leap forward,” stated Michael Bullock, Intermap Technologies' vice president of consumer electronics. “What sets AccuTerra Europe apart from any other GPS mapping content on the market is the detail and accuracy of the NEXTMap terrain data. Because Intermap has just completed remapping Western Europe, we are able to take advantage of this dataset to build a product that has never been seen before. Our plan is to continue to enhance AccuTerra Europe with additional features and layers that leverage our NEXTMap data. The market has been calling for better mapping solutions and Intermap has stepped up to fill the void.”

AccuTerra Europe GPS maps will be pre-loaded on several GPS devices as well as made available for download or purchase via SD card for a manufacturer’s line of soon to be announced select devices. The Company expects products to be on the shelf in the spring of 2009 with revenue generation beginning immediately upon shipment for the embedded line of products.
