Vero report record numbers for software presentations

Vero Software Plc, (AIM: VERO) leading suppliers of CAD/CAM software for the mould and die industry report record numbers to both their UK and Italian VISI 16 software presentation days. The concept of the free software preview day is to present and demonstrate the new features and modules of the latest release to maintenance users and provide time with technicians. The practice has been increasingly popular over the years with the UK spreading the presentations over several days to cope with increased demand and Italy expanding both the size and number of locations.

The question was “Would this year provide a drop in numbers as the economic gloom forecasters took interest away?” and “Would the fact that pipeline work was lower deter the company interest?"

The answer was a resounding no - The UK held a week of presentation days in the new head office in Cheltenham plus extra days in the North of England and Ireland. There were a total of more than 150 attendees listening to the presentations and discussing the newer and finer points of the VISI products.

One UK customer, Wood and Loines Limited expressed their delight at the latest release " Version 16 is the best upgrade we have had to date. Since installing after the update day, we have found that the striped down menus alone have allowed us to increase the programming output, not to mention the improved surfacing, viewing and modelling abilities. Not stopping there, the new licensing will save us money in insurance too. Altogether, yet another great release - thanks."

Italy held multiple presentations in different locations with outstanding attendances in all locations. 180 people came to the Romano meeting (Turin), 150 people to the Seriate presentations (Milan) and 70 to the presentation day in Marcon (Venice). Two new locations were included with Frosinone and Chieti being added to the schedule.

Anecdotal evidence on the reaction to the new release was unanimously favourable and most customers were surprised by the depth and quantity of new features presented throughout the product. Lorraine Gardiner, UK Sales Co-ordinator explains that “Customers particularly liked the auto constrained super surface in addition to the major excitement surrounding the new 2.5D CAM improvements and Compass Technology.

About Vero Software Plc
The company creates, owns and distributes software for aiding the design and manufacturing process in specific sectors of the industry. The specific sectors include the design and manufacture of plastic injection moulds, sheet metal stamping dies, progressive dies, shoe moulds, electrode production and others. These widespread product types are in turn to be found in a multitude of manufacturing industry sectors such as automotive, electronic, medical, white goods and aerospace.

The original Vero Software company was formed in Italy in 1988 by four engineers, each with many years of computer aided design and manufacturing experience. The initial products were marketed under the VISI CAD and VISI CAM names to meet the increasing demands for advanced yet practical software solutions in the mechanical design and production environments.

The company firmly believes that step gains in productivity can be made by building as much knowledge of specific design and machining processes within its software as possible. This philosophy of productivity through specialisation has led to new applications in the design of mould tools for plastic injection and progressive dies.

The company has offices in Italy, England, Japan, France, Canada, USA and China. VISI now has more than 20,000 users world-wide and over 1,000 Machining STRATEGIST users.
