Quotes:

-- According to Mark Severns at Bucyrus International, "We trialed Riverbed Steelhead appliances to optimize traffic between the US and Australia. We had three criteria that needed to be met -- accelerating multiple applications, an easy deployment in remote offices and simple management. The Steelhead appliances exceeded our expectations. We were able to have remote offices up and running in minutes -- even those with no IT support; some applications are now more than 80X faster and the Riverbed Central Management Console provided us with a simple process to deploy, configure, and manage."

-- According to the IT manager at RF Systems, "It [the Riverbed Steelhead appliance deployment] plays a good part in making us more competitive. Eliminating the development cycle time that it takes engineers to collaborate reduces the time to develop our products. For example, download times went from 30 to 40 minutes on average to about 5 minutes, and we managed to centralize all our data. And that makes it easier to collaborate around the world. Teams no longer have to be local, and it's OK if there's a team in Chicago and a team in China collaborating."
