PIC Group, Inc. to Replace Multiple Systems with Integrated CMiC Construction Software

TORONTO—(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 26, 2009— PIC Group, Inc. (PIC), a global service provider to the power generation industry, has chosen to reduce costs and improve productivity by integrating all of their financial and project management functions with CMiC software. By replacing its current systems with CMiC Enterprise, CMiC Project Management and CMiC Integration, PIC will achieve a significant return on investment while reducing overhead costs and eliminating unnecessary support payments.

“We selected CMiC because of the system’s solid accounting foundation and good reports,” said Adam Griffin, director of IT at PIC. “CMiC has the ability to handle heavy changes in personnel, while other systems are very focused on static work crews. We looked at other systems, and some of them were good at select areas, but none provided the whole package that CMiC did.”

Based in Marietta, Ga., PIC also has offices in Houston, Tex., Lima, Peru, Mexico City, Mexico, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Zurich, Switzerland. PIC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation, combines a small company culture with big company resources and experience to provide the best solutions for their customers’ every need. PIC’s complete portfolio of services includes installation, full scope turbine and boiler outage services, balance of plant mechanical services, equipment commissioning, integrated plant start-up, operations and maintenance, and complete staffing solutions for all aspects of power project development and execution.

“CMiC is the one system to meet the majority of the company’s needs,” said Griffin. “We didn’t want to initiate another system and end up heavily customizing it to meet our unique requirements. We are looking forward to CMiC software helping us with our growth requirements while also lowering overhead costs.”

“CMiC is pleased that PIC has joined the ever increasing CMiC client community,” said Bassem Hamdy, vice president, solutions, CMiC. “Given the current economic conditions, we are confident that by using CMiC software and consolidating all mission critical information onto a single database, PIC will reduce costs, improve productivity and enhance efficiency.”
