NCI and Google to Extend Cutting-Edge Geospatial Search and Visualization Capabilities for the Department of Defense and Federal Customers

RESTON, Va.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—April 8, 2009— NCI, Inc. (NASDAQ:NCIT), a leading provider of information technology (IT), engineering, and professional services and solutions to U.S. Federal Government agencies, announced today that it has been awarded an extension to its successful technology demonstration task order for the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) developing cutting-edge search and geospatial visualization capability for key Federal customers, specifically the Joint Information Operations Warfare Command (JIOWC) at Lackland, AFB, TX. The task order was awarded to NCI, together with partners Google Inc. and Next Tier Concepts, under the U.S. Air Force Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract.

Geospatial visualization is the process of viewing geospatially tagged information on maps or over satellite imagery. The NCI team will link and make searchable web applications and web-based portals with information from external databases and other enterprise data sources. These applications will use Google Earth Enterprise and Google Enterprise Search to integrate a customer enterprise data search capability linked to customized geospatial views and visualization for critical customer information. NCI is a Federal market leader in this business practice arena and a certified Google Enterprise Partner.

“This is an important transformational leap for our entire customer base. The combination of behind-the-firewall enterprise data search and geospatial display dramatically amplifies the power of critical real-time information analysis and visualization. NCI is honored to share a leadership role in this emerging market. We are also very pleased with the outstanding relationship that we have developed with Google and Next Tier Concepts and we look forward to a strong relationship as we continue to bring cutting-edge solutions to our Federal customers,” said NCI’s President, Terry W. Glasgow.

Jim Young, Google Federal Sales Manager, added, “The innovative synergy NCI has developed, incorporating both Google Enterprise Search and Google Earth Enterprise technologies into a single productivity tool, is a tremendously useful and innovative application of our products. We are thrilled to work with NCI as they integrate these technologies with Department of Defense mission-focused applications.”
