SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 18, 2009 -- Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the IT infrastructure performance company for networks, applications and storage, today announced that as part of its participation in the HP ProCurve Open Network Ecosystem (HP ProCurve ONE), Riverbed® will be demonstrating at Interop Las Vegas 2009 the Riverbed Optimization System (RiOS®), which powers its Steelhead® product family, running on the HP ProCurve ONE Services zl module.
Riverbed WAN optimization solutions liberate enterprises from common IT constraints by dramatically improving application performance, enabling consolidation without disruption, and providing end-to-end network and application visibility. The HP ProCurve ONE Services zl module is a blade for the HP ProCurve Switch 5400zl and 8200zl series that consolidates partner applications onto a common platform, enabling reduced costs and optimizing rack space. Riverbed WAN optimization running on HP ProCurve infrastructure provides customers with a next-generation data center solution that allows CIOs to reconcile the conflicting demands of serving distributed employees with ever increasing data management requirements with centralized IT. The joint solution should be available in the second half of 2009.
"The inclusion of RiOS in HP ProCurve ONE gives customers moving to next-generation data center models a solution that can reduce costs and the complexity of network management, while improving application performance and employee productivity," said Eric Wolford, senior vice president of marketing and business development at Riverbed. "We've been working closely with HP on product development to ensure the integration of our solutions meets the transforming needs of the global enterprise. Attendees at Interop will be able to see our tight integration in action."
"Customers want to reduce the costs and the complexity associated with network management. The Riverbed Optimization System combined with HP ProCurve ONE provides this while improving application performance," said Matt Zanner, worldwide director, Data Center Solutions, HP ProCurve. "The integration of Riverbed RiOS with HP ProCurve's switching infrastructure delivers business value by increasing the efficiency of WAN optimization for our customers."
Riverbed will demonstrate RiOS running on the HP ProCurve ONE Services zl module at Interop. In addition to viewing the demo, attendees can learn more about WAN optimization solutions at several Interop sessions featuring Riverbed spokespersons discussing a wide range of topics, including the evolution of application delivery, next-generation data centers, and the competitive landscape of WAN optimization solutions.
