SANTA ANA, Calif, May 26, 2009 – MSC.Software (NASDAQ: MSCS), a leading global provider of simulation software and services, today announced that STX Offshore & Shipbuilding, one of the world’s leading Shipbuilding and Offshore Structures builders has selected MSC.Software’s suite of engineering simulation software including Marc and Patran, to increase its product quality through greater simulation accuracy.

STX Offshore &Shipbuilding will utilize MSC.Software’s proven set of engineering solutions to conduct global structural and vibration analyses. These include determining structural stability under various sea conditions. With improved simulation performed during the early phase of design, STX Offshore & Shipbuilding is able to prevent excessive vibration on vessels and produce more reliable and safer products.
