DesignDC 2009: Architects Leading Change in the Built Environment

WASHINGTON, DC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Jun 04, 2009 -- Change and challenge dominate headlines these days, but in the urban planning and design world, the real buzz is about architects leading change. To help face challenges and turn change into opportunity, the Washington Chapter American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Potomac Valley AIA announce DesignDC 2009: Architects Leading Change, July 14 - 16, 2009 at the Walter Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.

This three-day, peer-to-peer interactive conference and trade show is a premier gathering of top architects, designers, engineers, consultants, contractors and planners that shape the built environment. More than 70 classes, sessions and project tours will be delivered by some of design's most visionary practitioners and thought leaders. Attendees may also earn Learning Units (LU) to maintain AIA certification, and Certification Maintenance (CM) credits for American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).

"DesignDC is a valuable event for A/E/C industry professionals at this critical time when everyone is looking for new ideas to overcome challenges," describes AIA|DC Executive Director Mary Fitch, AICP, Hon.
