GeoDecisions Joins EDGE Innovation Network

(July 24, 2009/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, announces it has joined the EDGE® Innovation Network. The network is a collaborative, open-environment initiative enabling industry and academia, with government input, to work together to enhance the delivery cycle of new technologies and innovative capabilities to warfighters and first responders. Sponsored by General Dynamics C4 Systems, the EDGE provides innovation centers and laboratories for developing and testing technologies, products, and systems that help make end-users more mobile, connected, and informed.

“GeoDecisions is pleased to be a member of the EDGE Innovation Network and looks forward to collaborating with other members to foster technical innovations to ultimately enhance the effectiveness and mobility of today's warfighter,” said Brendan Wesdock, vice president of GeoDecisions.

Pete Palmer, EDGE Innovation Network director, said, “By aligning technologies and innovations from EDGE members, with requests and feedback from warfighters, first responders, and programs, we can deliver new and relevant capabilities to users faster than typical acquisition cycles currently allow.”

In addition to innovations delivered to the U.S. Army’s Land Warrior program, the EDGE is currently monitoring more than 15 projects intended to improve and enhance warfighter capabilities. Members recently joining the EDGE include Microsoft Corporation, of Reston, Va.; Purdue University, of West Lafayette, Ind.; Future Skies, Inc., of Wall Township, N.J.; Fortress Technologies, of Oldsmar, Fla; and Cummings Engineering of Chandler, Ariz.

The first EDGE facility officially opened in December 2006. There are currently more than 70 EDGE members in the network. More information can be found online at www.EDGE-innovation.com.
