USGIF Announces DNI and D/NRO as Keynote Speakers for GEOINT 2009

Additional speakers confirm participation in sixth annual GEOINT Symposium

Herndon, Va., August 12, 2009—The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) announced today more confirmed speakers for its sixth annual GEOINT Symposium, which takes place Oct. 18-21, 2009, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Newly confirmed keynote speakers for GEOINT 2009 are the Honorable Dennis C. Blair, director of national intelligence, and retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Bruce Carlson, director of the National Reconnaissance Office. They join already confirmed keynote speakers U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Robert Murrett, director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency; U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. David A. Deptula, deputy chief of staff, U.S. Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and the Honorable James R. Clapper Jr., under secretary of defense for intelligence.

Also participating in the GEOINT 2009 Symposium are U.S. Army Maj. Gen. John M. Custer, commanding general, U.S. Army Intelligence Center and Fort Huachuca; Dr. Lisa Porter, IARPA director; Dr. Lee Schwartz, geographer and director, office of the geographer and global issues, bureau of intelligence and research, Department of State; Mr. Robert Cardillo, deputy director for analysis, Defense Intelligence Agency; Mr. Bart R. Johnson, acting under secretary for intelligence and analysis, Department of Homeland Security; Dr. Pete Rustan, director, ground enterprise directorate, National Reconnaissance Office; U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Bradley A. Heithold, commander, Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency; John Oswald, director, analysis and production directorate, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency; Francesco Pisano, manager of the U.N. Institute for Training and Research Operational Satellite Applications Program; Jeff Jonas, distinguished engineer and chief scientist, entity analytic solutions, IBM Software Group; and the IC CIOs who will all participate in panel discussion.
