Early Rate Deadline for GITA’s 18th GIS for Oil & Gas Event Is Friday, Aug. 21

                            Hotel Room Block Closes Aug. 21; Exhibit Floor Sold Out Five Months to Show Start

Aurora, Colo., —August 17, 2009— The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) announced today that the deadline for taking advantage of early registration discounts for its GIS for Oil & Gas Conference is next Friday, Aug. 21, 2009. The Marriott Westchase Hotel is offering. Practitioners can register and reserve hotel rooms at gita.org/oilgas.

The 18th Annual GIS for Oil & Gas Conference is set for Sept. 13-17, 2009, at the Marriott Westchase Hotel in Houston, Texas. Attendees who register for the conference by Friday, August 21, can save $100 on full-conference registration; early registration discounts are also available for the five pre-conference seminars taking place Sunday, Sept. 13 and Monday, Sept. 14. special conference rates for attendees, and that room block closes Aug. 21, 2009.

This growing conference consistently experiences record-breaking attendance every year. Attendees in 2009 can meet with a total of 67 exhibitors, take part in a program full of new geospatial solutions for oil and gas professionals, and network with top thought leaders in both the geospatial and oil and gas disciplines. Unfortunately, because of Hurricane Ike, the 2008 GIS for Oil & Gas Conference was canceled, but momentum has built for the 2009 event since the fall of 2008.

The only event of its kind, GITA’s GIS for Oil & Gas Conference features 25 paper presentations organized into two concurrent tracks, panel discussions, the exhibition hall, five in-depth preconference seminars, and numerous networking opportunities all developed expressly for professionals in the oil and gas industry.
