Terrasolid releases new versions of the worldleading software suite for handling of airborne and mobile scanned laser point clouds

Helsinki, Finland—September 21, 2009 Terrasolid Ltd.( www.terrasolid.fi), the world-leading developer of software solutions for handling of airborne and mobile scanned laser point clouds has relased new versions of TerraScan, TerraMatch and TerraPhoto.

Support for mobile mapping and automatic building vectorization added among other

TerraScan, TerraMatch, TerraPhoto and TerraModeler form the world leading software solution for handling of the airborne and mobile laser scanned point clouds. You can calibrate, match and classify the point clouds and create true ortho photos in one integrated environment.

"Mobile mapping is growing rapidly and it sets new demands for the software. We've added the capability to match and calibrate mobile point clouds and also tools to solve the camera misalignments and distortions" says Arttu Soinien, Chief Technology Officer of Terrasolid and continues ”The new features were received with enthusiasm at our North American training event held last week in Huntsville,Alabama”.

The new automatic building vectorization produces models even from fairly low density point clouds such as 2-3 points/sq.m2 and results in very good building models when density is above 10 points/sq.m2.. It is also now possible to extract colors for laser points from photographs.

The new features are demonstrated at the Terrasolid booth in Intergeo exhibition at Karlsruhe this week.
