HP Appoints Christopher Morgan to Lead Imaging and Printing Group’s Graphics Solutions Business

PALO ALTO, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 29, 2009 — HP (NYSE: HPQ) today announced the appointment of Christopher Morgan as senior vice president of the Graphics Solutions global business unit within company’s Imaging and Printing Group, effective Nov. 1.

He will report to Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president of the Imaging and Printing Group. Morgan succeeds Michael Hoffmann, who is leaving HP to pursue other professional interests.

Morgan will lead the teams responsible for accelerating the company’s growth in the graphics marketplace, which represents an estimated $30 billion global opportunity. HP’s Graphics Solutions business includes a portfolio of devices, services and solutions that span segments ranging from high-speed inkjet printing to design, signage and transactional publishing to commercial digital presses.

“The graphics marketplace is a tremendous opportunity for HP, with what we estimate will be 1.4 trillion prints going digital by 2012,” said Joshi. “Chris is an exceptional leader with deep business experience and a passion for serving customers that will help drive the analog to digital print transformation and take our business to the next level.”

A 20-year veteran of HP, Morgan has held a number of global and regional senior management posts, most recently as senior vice president of the Imaging and Printing Group in the Asia Pacific and Japan region. In this position, he was responsible for overseeing and accelerating all imaging and printing initiatives in the region, including sales and marketing, supply chain and operations, and customer experience across the consumer, small- to medium-size business, enterprise and graphics segments.

Morgan will be based in San Diego. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a Bachelor of Science in journalism and psychology.
