Meridian Systems Customer Fairmont Pacific Honored

Meridian Systems and Event 1 Software, an authorized Meridian technology partner, receive Enabler Awards

FOLSOM, Calif. (October 6, 2009) - Meridian Systems, the Plan-Build-Operate (PBO) technology solutions leader for project-based organizations, announced today that Constructech Magazine has honored Fairmont Pacific Rim/299 Burrard Development with a 2009 Vision Award. Technology Enabler awards were also presented to Event 1 Software and Meridian Systems, among others.

The Constructech Vision Awards honor companies that have realized the advantages of applying innovative technologies to their everyday businesses. All companies were honored during an awards ceremony following Constructech's fourth annual Technology Day conference.

"In today's market, construction companies must face new challenges head on, and bring customers the most affordable, quality product they can. This goal can be achieved with the use of the right technology solutions," said Mike Carrozzo, chief editor, Constructech Magazine. "The companies named as Vision Award winners recognize this necessity, and have become more successful as a result of implementing technology."

Fairmont Pacific Rim/299 Burrard Development, a company established by a joint venture between Westbank Projects Corp. and Peterson Investment Group, received a Silver Vision Award in the Builder/GC Residential $26 Million - $100 Million Category. The Fairmont Pacific Rim project in Coal Harbour, Vancouver, BC Canada will run 40 months of construction and is one million square feet and has a multitude of components to make this a stunning addition to Vancouver's waterfront. The project, which includes a 47-story - 5 Star Hotel & Private Residences, is scheduled to be complete in time to open the luxury Fairmont Hotel for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

The company invested in the most current technological solutions to assist in the project collaboration and management of information. An integrated software solution of PrologĀ® software and Sage Timberline Office, was implemented so the company could efficiently and effectively manage the scope, schedule, cost and changes, allowing for clear accountability and timely reporting. By streamlining processes with this technology solution the company is in a better position to avoid schedule delays and associated costs.

Fairmont Pacific Rim/299 Burrard Development chose Event 1 Software's Integrator product to exchange budgets, commitments, and actual cost data between Prolog software from Meridian Systems and Sage Timberline Office. This allowed them to have up-to-date information in both systems and without double-entry. By applying the right people, work processes, and combination of software, they addressed the management and reporting needs for this very large-scale hotel project.

"We are thrilled to be one of the technology visionaries honored by Constructech for a 2009 Vision Award," said Maureen Campbell, manager construction accounting, Fairmont Pacific Rim/299 Burrard Development. "Our solution has used leading-edge technology to connect our entire team including the owners, architects, consultants, trades and our staff on site and in the head office. Because of Prolog, project documents can be accessed, submitted and shared anywhere, anytime."
