GeoFields Announces RiskFrame® DIMP Modeler at ESRI Electric & Gas User Group Conference

ATLANTA, GA, — October 19, 2009 — GeoFields, Inc., a global leader in asset data management and integrity management solutions for the pipeline industry, today announced the demonstration of a gas distribution risk modeling solution at the ESRI Electric & Gas User Group (EGUG) Conference. GeoFields will show the upcoming release of RiskFrame® DIMP Modeler in the GeoFields booth #216, October 12-13, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, Georgia.

“GeoFields is pleased to aid natural gas distribution utilities in preparing for upcoming distribution integrity management regulations,” said Keith Chambless, president at GeoFields. “Our newest Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP) solution builds on years of pipeline integrity experience and will help operators meet DIMP requirements by modeling risk and prioritizing inspection, repair, and replacement activities.”

The RiskFrame DIMP Modeler demonstration will highlight the ability to identify threats, then evaluate risk and prioritize mitigation activities without the need of a measured centerline, a typical requirement for transmission pipeline systems. Users will have the ability to apply their organization's risk algorithms, define the contributing risk factors (causes and consequences), and calculate the final risk value. Following the processing of this data, the resulting risk scores can be displayed or exported as a map document, tabular or chart view, allowing operators to more efficiently prioritize and focus on areas having the highest risk, critical steps in complying with the pending DIMP regulation.

“We are excited to see GeoFields extending ESRI's platform to meet the DIMP regulations,” said Robert Brook, ESRI's pipeline and gas utility industry manager. “GeoFields solution leverages their existing integrity experience to provide gas utilities with a strong solution for their integrity programs.”
