This award is the most significant honor awarded to a firm by The AIACC and recognizes firms who have consistently produced distinguished architecture, contributing to the advancement of the profession in areas of design, research, planning, technology, preservation and innovation for a period of at least 10 years.
Founded in 1991 by Gwynne Pugh, AIA, and Lawrence Scarpa, AIA, the firm has garnered international acclaim for its success in bringing together innovative aesthetics, with leadership in sustainability, as well as socially progressive design. The firm office is located in Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, and was converted by the firm from a water-heater factory and cultural landmark, into 46 art galleries, shops, lofts and creative offices.
