Actix Announces Enterprise System for Super Call Trace Geo-location

London, 2 November 2009 – Actix, the leader in Network Status Management (NSM) and Optimization, has revealed its Actix One Enterprise system for geo-location of Super Call Trace data. Actix’ geo-location technology allows operators to see actual subscriber behavior using live network data without the need for GPS. Super Call Trace with geo-location is an NSM application module currently available within the Actix One suite.

Geo-location, which refers to the identification of geographic location, allows a network operator to identify the exact physical location of billions of subscriber-related events on a nationwide network. This allows operators to understand the volume and types of traffic they are serving in each physical location and any network performance problems subscribers may be experiencing. Actix’s Super Call Trace geo-location solution uses a series of sophisticated algorithms to automatically calculate physical location that has been shown to provide exceptionally accurate, reliable results – even providing positions for in-building traffic.

With extraordinary amounts of data involved in tracking, identifying and solving networking issues using real time sources, a scalable, proven enterprise system is essential. Geo-location is part of the Actix One Super Call Trace application module, inheriting the advanced visualization, analysis, diagnosis features and proven scalability of the Actix One system. Actix One is deployed in dozens of operator installations globally and has been benchmarked by HP/Intel labs for performance and reliability.

When combined with existing sources of network data and a wide variety of related applications, the Actix One Super Call Trace application module provides exceptional transparency into the network, enabling network operators to recognize issues, prioritize network investments and implement solutions far more effectively than ever before.

“Actix is taking network engineering to another level with geo-location solutions. We are now able to help operators provide better services for subscribers through better network management. By identifying issues affecting real traffic, operators can classify network issues as they happen and improve the user experience their network delivers,” said Alex Hawker, CEO, Actix. “In turn, operators can also gain more granular information around individual cell sites, and calculating actual use patterns removes the need for guesswork.”
