The 2010 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge(R) 'Best of' Recognition Awards Drive Competition for Entrepreneurs and Developers

Nine Diverse Recognition Awards Create Opportunities for Map Applications Worldwide

In addition to the record global prize pool valued at over $10 million USD to be shared by the overall winners, "Best of" recognition awards will be awarded in nine categories to recognize achievements in particular areas. Criteria vary for each recognition award, and several embrace this year's acceptance of pre-commercialized applications on any device.

A complete list of the 2010 Global LBS Challenge "Best of" recognition awards includes:

    --  Best Use of Location-Based Advertising, incenting developers to
        introduce new business models in their applications and using

        carriers and device manufacturers. This award will be judged on the best

        Sponsor Imagination Technologies, a NAVTEQ co-marketing partner and a

    --  Best Home Screen Widget Design, awarded by Global Sponsor HTC
        Corporation in each region for the most compelling solution that brings
        location-based content to the home screen of the Android(TM)-based HTC
        Hero(TM) phone.
    --  Best Use of Tanla License Manager, selected by Global Sponsor Tanla in
        each region for the most inventive use of Tanla's advanced solutions for
        24/7 license management and on-device payment.
    --  Best Touch User Interface (UI) Application, recognizing the most
        inventive LBS application to utilize the increasingly popular
        touch-screen devices.
    --  Best Use of Pedestrian Content, an opportunity for developers to
        capitalize on data from more than 100 global cities in NAVTEQ Discover
        Cities(TM), exploring pedestrian navigation and multi-modal routing.
    --  Best API Creation, open to contestants creating a unique Application
        Programming Interface (API) that can be accessed or integrated by
        others.
    --  Best Use of User Generated Content (UGC), open to applications that
        include audience input - such as travel reviews, bicycle routes and
        location blogs - to differentiate their solution.
    --  Best Productivity Solution, open to innovative enterprise solutions
        improving the mobile workplace.
