ESPRIT at Work: ESPRIT CAM maker DP Technology Presents New Webinar Series

Camarillo, Calif. — Nov. 5, 2009 — Recognizing the need for easily-accessible, high-quality product training, DP Technology Corp. is using the latest Internet technology to offer a new webinar series as an efficient, time-saving supplement to traditional classroom training — and to help customers make the most of its ESPRIT® computer-aided-manufacturing (CAM) software.

“Our goal is to show our customers the many benefits in the software, features that could vastly improve their machining processes, but of which they may remain unaware,” said Dave Bartholomew, webinar designer and host.

Intended as an added value for current customers who are Software Maintenance Contract (SMC) subscribers, to guide them on how to more fully utilize the software, the new ESPRIT at Work program consists of these new webinars, corresponding technical bulletins, and webinar archives. The bulletins are an additional training resource that, with or without webinar participation, are another tool for making the most of ESPRIT.

Each 50-minute webinar, or seminar conducted over the Internet, will be followed by a question-and-answer period and, after each webinar goes “live,” it will be archived and made available to those customers who would like to watch it again to deepen their knowledge or to simply revisit the topic from the comfort of their own desks.

“The webinar series is not a replacement for traditional training,” said Chuck Mathews, vice president. “We still believe that participating in a traditional classroom training course is the best method for obtaining a strong foundation of ESPIRT knowledge, but for very specific subjects in which you seek advanced training, a webinar is the perfect medium.

“Webinars are an ideal medium for reducing the time and financial costs of operator training. Our customers have told us that they see these webinars as a big benefit and welcome addition to our SMC program.  The webinar is certainly an ideal medium for making training more accessible while simultaneously reducing the time and financial costs.”

The upcoming ESPRIT webinars will focus on several different topics, including, but not limited to:

— The new machining technology interface for all cutting cycles

     — Advanced pocket feature recognition

— 3-axis milling with SolidMill mold capabilities

—    and more…

The establishment of the new webinar program is partly a response to the popularity of a recent series of webinars created for wire EDM customers.

“The feedback from customers has been very positive,” said Sue Mosdale, a member of DP’s customer service staff. “They appreciate the webinars because they don’t need to leave the office to participate.”

The new ESPRIT webinar series will kick off in the first week of December.

Be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming webinars as they become available.
