CMC International Offering Free Book for Purchases Made on GIS Day

November 10, 2009 -- CMC International is proud to announce that customers making purchases on November 18 will receive a free book with their order in observance of GIS Day.

Each year a shared interest in GIS technology is the basis for a global celebration called GIS Day. Since 1998, GIS users have been sharing their passion for this technology with people in their community who know little or nothing about it. Map galleries, products demonstrations, presentations, training sessions, school assemblies and geocaching events are all GIS Day activities. Last year, 1,000 organizations in over 75 countries were involved.

On this day, CMC International is offering a free book to customers who place an order on GIS Day (while supplies last).

The first five orders of the day will receive the ESRI/University of Redlands Colloquium CD Set. This set of 10 CDs normally retails for $24.99 and captures a small part of an extraordinary educational opportunity provided weekly to Master of Science in Geographic Information Systems (MS GIS) students at the University of Redlands and the staff of ESRI Redlands. Each Wednesday throughout the year, a visiting scholar or professional or an ESRI staff member is invited to present a one-hour talk on any GIS-related topic. The colloquium series provides students with essential exposure to both research and professional frontiers in the field.

All other orders will receive a randomly selected ESRI Press book while supplies last. Titles include GIS for Health Organizations, GIS for Water Management and more.

“We feel GIS is an important part of business and government today. We strive to provide the best GIS products available. We look forward to providing these books to our first customers on GIS Day,” said David Goldstein, CEO of CMC International.

CMC International is a business partner with many companies who also make GIS a focus with their excellent GIS software and data products, including ESRI, Pitney Bowes Business Insight, Applied Geographic Solutions (AGS), Market Planning Solutions, Inc. (MPSI), Applied Spatial Technology, Inc., and GeoTel Communications, Inc. To review the list of products available, visit http://www.cmcus.com.
