Kenworth Truck Company Selects CADseek for CAD Data Management

The iSEEK Corporation has added the Kenworth Truck Company to its list of customers. The Kenworth Truck Company selected CADseek as its CAD data search engine to complement the suite of design software products they now use.

CADseek, a patented innovation of the iSEEK Corporation, automatically codes the overall shape of parts and/or assemblies in large, distributed CAD databases. Once the coding process is complete, the parts and assemblies are then grouped into families of similar designs. This process is also accomplished automatically in batch mode. The user interface provides a rich, visual presentation of the families which the user can browse to find their parts or those of their suppliers and subcontractors.

CADseek provides the ability to search the CAD database for parts and assemblies based upon design configuration alone, metadata alone, or a combination of design configuration and metadata.

Thumb Tool and Engineering, a world-class designer and producer of tooling for aluminum extruders, recommends CADseek to extruders for profile searching. “CADseek saves time, improves consistency, and most importantly is exceptionally easy to use,” said George Taylor, General Manager of Thumb Tool and Engineering

A significant cost is incurred each time a new part is designed and released to production. With CADseek, the designer can locate existing parts that can be re-used as is or with slight modification. CADseek was deployed at Embraer (Brazil) in January of 2009. Embraer is one of the largest aircraft manufacturers in the world. Embraer has smoothly deployed iSEEK software with excellent results.

Manufacturing engineers and supply chain management personnel can use CADSEEK to locate cost and process information for similar shaped parts and to locate suppliers with demonstrated fabricating capabilities.

The Peterbilt Motor Company is also a customer of the iSEEK Corporation. “The iSEEK Corporation’s management and staff have provided Peterbilt with excellent support over the two years of association with their CADseek product,” said Rick Mihelic, Engineering Systems Manager, Peterbilt Motors Company. Rick Mihelic also added, “iSEEK has been very responsive incorporating product enhancements to address our needs. Their CADseek product has the functionality necessary to help our company reduce costs through several paths. CADSEEK can improve reuse and repurposing of existing designs by rapidly identifying similar parts through both geometric model based comparison and attribute based search engines. The tool can also rapidly identify existing duplicate parts permitting cost savings through consolidation, standardization and part number reduction. ISEEK’s technical expertise and proprietary approaches for geometric comparison have been well proven in our evaluations.”

Providing quick and effective response to the customers’ needs has been the hallmark of the company’s strategy. “We have been committed to customers and their needs since we transformed the CAD data management marketplace with the introduction of CADseek,” said Don Flugrad, Senior Vice President for iSEEK Corporation. “CADseek’s accuracy, functionality, ease of use and speed have proven credible in a wide spectrum of industries, including agricultural and construction equipment, tooling, aircraft production and heavy vehicle manufacturing,” added Flugrad.

“Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance in establishing iSEEK Corporation as the authority in the CAD data management marketplace. CADseek development and improvement have been based on that foundation, and everyone involved with the CADseek brand is continuously encouraged to focus on that goal,” acknowledged Abir Qamhiyah, CEO of iSEEK Corporation.

Impac Systems Engineering, a leading value added reseller for iSEEK Corporation, has been in business for nearly twenty five years selling high end engineering software applications. “It is a new technology that offers immediate value with a very simple user interface. It solves a huge problem and transfers significant savings to our customers’ bottom line.” said Carl Rose, President of Impac Systems Engineering.

iSEEK Corporation, located in Ames, introduced CADseek to the market in June of 2006 with Deere & Company as the first entry on CADseek’s customer list.
