NextComputing and VidiGo Create Portable Solution for Live Adobe AE Flash-based Broadcast Graphics Generation

Nashua (U.S.A.) / Amsterdam (Netherlands), February 8th 2010 - NextComputing, manufacturer of high-performance portable computers, and VidiGo, developer of smart software products for creating and managing broadcast quality TV content easily, have co-developed a portable solution for live production of Adobe Flash graphics and PC content for live television. This turnkey solution combines the PC content output and real-time Flash rendering capabilities of VidiGo Graphics, with NextComputing’s all-in-one Radius portable workstation.

Broadcast graphics are a critical part of most television productions today. However, adding high-quality graphics to a production is often daunting, in part due to the high cost of entry for most professional graphics systems, as well as a steep learning curve to operate and develop graphics content for these systems. Further adding to this challenge is the increasing need to display websites or other PC content in a live TV production, a technical challenge that until now has had no simple solution.

“By packaging VidiGo Graphics, with its innovative Flash-based broadcast graphics and PC screen capture features, into our Radius portable computer, broadcasters can now have a convenient, all-in-one system to easily produce elegant graphics content on-air, from anywhere,” says Aaron Sherman, Marketing Director at NextComputing. “We’re excited about this collaboration, which allows both companies to help solve live graphics problems for television stations of any size.”

The Radius high-performance portable workstation computer packs all the necessary horsepower to perform live rendering of Flash animations to HD-SDI output, all in a compact portable design with integrated display, making it easy to take this capability on the road for off-site events.
