Orange County Chapter of U.S. Green Building Council Elects 2010 Slate of Executive Board Members  

TUSTIN, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 23, 2010 — The Orange County Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council has announced the selection of the new Board of Directors for 2010. The new Board members will be responsible for leading the organization in cooperation with the Executive Director, Lisa Kramer.

Board members include the re-election of Greg Shank, LEED AP as Chairman of the Board. Greg is Vice President of CTG Energetics. Edward Kweskin, LEED AP and Vice President of Cannon Constructors Group, has been elected as Secretary of the Board. Lorraine Francis, LEED AP and Founder & Principal of Cadiz Design Studio, has been elected as a member of the Board along with Diane McLean, AIA, LEED AP and Program Architect from Southern California Edison. Rodel Urmatan, LEED AP and Senior Eco-Consultant for the Waste Management Green Squad, was also elected as a 2010 Board member.

Effective March 1, 2010 Steve Chaky, LEED AP and Director of the JOA Group, was appointed to replace Director Kimberly Hosken, LEED AP and Program Director, Green Buildings for Johnson Controls, who has relocated to the Midwest.

These New Orange County U.S. Green Building Council Board Members will join the existing Directors, Lindsey Engels, LEED AP and Project Coordinator with LPA, Inc., who was elected as Vice Chair of the Board, Ian Bress, CEO of Pacific Building Care, who will continue to serve as the USGBC Orange County Treasurer, and Jett McCormick, LEED AP and Senior Director, Construction from the Irvine Company.

“We look forward to the leadership and insight this new slate of Directors will bring to USGBC Orange County,” indicated Executive Director, Lisa Kramer. “Our Mission and purpose within Orange County is being fulfilled every day as we see greener, more sustainable solutions and integrated design programs beginning to take the lead in our building industry.”

The Orange County Chapter of USGBC is working hard to provide valuable education to its members and Orange County building industry professionals. Recently, the chapter instituted LEED AP credential maintenance points for most of its educational programming. Most of these courses are available at low and no cost to Orange County Chapter members. More information is available at www.usgbc-oc.org.

The Orange County Chapter of USGBC is a dynamic group of professionals and supportive individuals and organizations advocating greener building and development in Orange County.
