TRIRIGA Announces ENERGY STAR Integration to Streamline Energy Benchmarking

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Mar 31, 2010 -- TRIRIGA®, the leading provider of integrated workplace management system (IWMS) and environmental sustainability software, today announced it is the first IWMS vendor to deliver direct integration to the EPA's ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager. This integration is immediately available and provides energy and facility management professionals the capability to automate the management of Energy Star's Energy Performance Ratings from TRIRIGA's award-winning environmental sustainability software, TREES.

Buildings account for 45 percent of carbon emissions and 70 percent of electricity consumption in the United States. ENERGY STAR, the national energy performance rating system, is the most widely used program for benchmarking energy use in buildings. This integration allows energy and facility management professionals to benchmark building energy performance against other buildings with similar building and operating characteristics, assess energy management goals over time, and identify strategic opportunities for savings and recognition opportunities through a secure exchange of building and energy use information.

"Many Federal, state, and local energy regulations mandate a minimum ENERGY STAR rating for new construction and major renovation," said George Ahn, CEO, TRIRIGA. "With this pre-built integration, our customers, who are already on the leading edge of energy and carbon reduction, will be able to measure and report their results to the highest government standards more easily and more efficiently. Facility professionals will be able to seamlessly measure, manage, and reduce energy use throughout their facilities portfolio."

TRIRIGA's integration with ENERGY STAR provides support for organizations involved in initiatives such as the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Energy Challenge: ENERGY STAR. IFMA started working with the EPA in 2009 to form a national energy challenge to assist its membership in reducing baseline energy usage by 15 percent or more.

"IFMA is committed to helping our members reduce energy use, save money, and improve environmental performance," said Eric Teicholz, chairman of IFMA's Sustainability Task Force. "TRIRIGA's support of the IFMA Energy Challenge: ENERGY STAR helps promote a valuable tool facility managers can use to meet their energy and environmental goals. IFMA is pleased that TRIRIGA has added functionality to their software, enabling their users who are members of IFMA to share data with our Energy Star program."
