Inaugural StreetMapper Conference Announced

April 22, 2010 -- 3D Laser Mapping and IGI have announced a StreetMapper 2010 International User Conference. Co-hosted with the European LiDAR Mapping Forum the StreetMapper Conference will take place on 02 December 2010 in The Hague, Netherlands.

Designed to attract both existing and potential users of mobile mapping systems the StreetMapper Conference will feature a range of technical presentations detailing the latest developments in laser scanning and mobile data capture together with end user case studies. The StreetMapper User Conference will also provide the perfect opportunity for delegates to meet with laser scanning specialists and network with mobile mapping professionals from around the world.

“The decision to host a European LiDAR Mapping Forum for the first time this year gave us the perfect opportunity to plan this StreetMapper event,” commented Dr Graham Hunter, Managing Director of 3D Laser Mapping. “The ELMF will attract delegates from Europe and beyond and we hope that many of those attending will choose to stay on for the StreetMapper Conference.”

For further information or to express an interest in attending the StreetMapper International User Conference please email to Email Contact or call +44 (0)870 442 9400.

StreetMapper 360, which is a joint development between UK based 3D Laser Mapping and German based guidance and navigation specialist IGI, has been specifically designed for the rapid 3D mapping of highways, runways, railways, infrastructure and buildings. Using vehicle-mounted Riegl VQ-250 lasers offering a 360-degree field of view StreetMapper enables high precision mapping to a range of 300 metres, a capacity of 300,000 measurements per second per sensor and recorded accuracies in independent real world projects of better than 10 millimetres.

Travelling at speeds of up to 70 kmph StreetMapper can capture every detail along the highway corridor including barriers, gulleys, overhead wires and building facades, helping surveyors to create highly accurate 3D computer models for planning, maintenance and incident management.

The inaugural StreetMapper Conference will follow on directly from the first European LiDAR Mapping Forum (ELMF), which takes place from the 30th November to the 1st December 2010 at the World Forum, The Hague, Netherlands. The ELMF is the European event for airborne, bathymetric and terrestrial LiDAR, with a particular focus on mobile mapping systems, a major, two day technical conference focussing on the use of LiDAR to support transport, urban modelling, coastal zone mapping, asset management and GIS applications. ELMF will also feature an associated international exhibition for system and component manufacturers, operators and service companies.
