Mortenson Construction Selects Skire Unifier as Enterprise Project Management System

Streamlining Processes and Integrating Systems Will Enable Collaboration, Differentiation and Best-in-Class Customer Service

MENLO PARK, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 13, 2010 — Skire, Inc. ( www.skire.com), the leading provider of capital program, facilities, real estate and project portfolio management software, today announced that Mortenson Construction has selected Skire’s Unifier as its new enterprise-standard project management system. Unifier will serve as a key component for a collaboration platform between Mortenson and all stakeholders on construction projects, enabling Mortenson to have complete visibility into all aspects of a project from start to finish, while improving customer collaboration and service delivery.

Mortenson is an Engineering News-Record Top 25 contractor with widespread industry recognition for its long-term customer relationships, ingenuity and expertise. The company is an industry leader in both Building Information Modeling (BIM) and sustainable design and construction methods.

While Mortenson currently has robust systems and processes for project management administration, the company was looking for a system that would help improve the quality and timeliness of information as well as the ability to collaborate with their customers. During a rigorous six-month selection process, Skire rose to the top because of the depth and flexibility of the solution and its willingness to work with Mortenson as a true strategic partner.

“We continually evaluate our systems and processes so that we deliver an exceptional building experience for our customers,” said Cole Orndorff, chief information officer at Mortenson Construction. “We chose Skire not only because we viewed the technology as robust and best-in-class, but because their people and culture align well with ours. The company’s product development organization impressed us a great deal.”

“Over the history of the company, Mortenson has always been an early adopter of industry changing technology and we are incredibly excited to partner with them to play a key role in their success in years to come,” said Massy Mehdipour, chief executive officer of Skire. “Having run a construction management business prior to Skire, our management team has an understanding of the challenges facing Mortenson and we have really enjoyed the collaborative partnership-based relationship we have developed over the past six months. Mortenson’s people, knowledge and culture are an excellent fit with Skire’s and this relationship represents a strategic partnership for Skire.”

Mortenson has received numerous industry awards and recognition related to Building Information Modeling and sustainable construction, two areas of core focus and where Unifier will be utilized to support.

“Mortenson’s history of technological innovation is widely known, and we could not be more excited about commencing a long-term business relationship to service the construction industry for years to come,” said Trenton Brown, executive vice president of Skire. “Through our joint efforts, we look forward to leading the industry into the next-generation of efficiency, intelligence and collaboration.”

“The Unifier solution represents an important component of Mortenson’s overall technology strategy and is designed to support and further our goal of delivering a best-in-class building experience,” said Orndorff. “We are excited to move forward with Skire as one of our key partners.”
