Oracle(R) Fusion Middleware Delivers Best-in-Class Dual Processor Result for Intel(R) Xeon(R) x7560 Platform With SPECjAppServer2004 Benchmark

REDWOOD SHORES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Jun 09, 2010 -- Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL)

News Facts

  • Today, Oracle announced that Oracle® WebLogic Server 11g, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g, together with Oracle Database 11g and Oracle Enterprise Linux, running on a Dell PowerEdge R810 rack server, achieved a best-in-class, dual processor result for the Intel® Xeon® x7560 platform and the best performance per processor of any result ever published with the SPECjAppServer2004 benchmark(1).
  • This achievement adds to Oracle WebLogic Server's current SPECjAppServer2004 benchmark records including world record results in multi-node(2); dual-node(3); and single-node(4) categories; the highest performance ever achieved running a clustered database(5) and the highest performance per core(6) of any result ever published.

Benchmark Details

  • Oracle WebLogic Server 11g and Oracle Database 11g delivered 5,739.17 SPECjAppServer2004 JOPS@Standard (jAppServer Operations Per Second). The Java application server was running on a two-processor Dell PowerEdge R810 server with the Intel® Xeon® X7560 2.26 GHz processor. Oracle Database 11g was running on a similar hardware configuration. Both application server and database server were running Oracle Enterprise Linux.
  • The Dell PowerEdge R810 is best suited for customers looking to reduce costs and streamline IT operations through virtualization. This is a unique four socket system in a high density 2U chassis. Advances in exclusive Dell memory management -- FlexMem Bridge -- enable the system to handle two and four socket workloads with full memory access.
  • For the past decade, Oracle has consistently published record-setting application server benchmarks on a broad range of hardware and software platforms(7).
